{"id":410,"date":"2013-04-19T15:41:52","date_gmt":"2013-04-19T15:41:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bastogne.tv\/index.php\/2013\/04\/19\/xvxsbq_xxde\/"},"modified":"2021-03-13T17:02:47","modified_gmt":"2021-03-13T16:02:47","slug":"the-mauritius-film-development-corporation-mfdc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bastogne.tv\/index.php\/2013\/04\/19\/the-mauritius-film-development-corporation-mfdc\/","title":{"rendered":"The Mauritius Film Development Corporation (MFDC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mission:To develop the image industry by creating opportunities<\/p>\n<p>in all relevant fields<\/p>\n<p>Vision: A dynamic image industry<\/p>\n<p>WHO WE ARE<\/p>\n<p>The Mauritius Film Development Corporation (MFDC) was set up in August 1986 (Act no. 31 of 1986) and is under the aegis of the Ministry of Arts and Culture.<br \/>\nIts budget is fully funded by Government.<br \/>\nOBJECTIVES<br \/>\nThe objectives of the Corporation as enunciated in the Act are:<br \/>\n\u2022 to import, export, exhibit and produce films;<br \/>\n\u2022 to establish relationship with foreign and international persons or bodies for the promotion of film activities;<br \/>\n\u2022 to hold or promote the holding of film show festivals to cater for the cultural and linguistic needs of the people of Mauritius;<br \/>\n\u2022 to give such assistance, financial or otherwise, as the Board may determine to persons or bodies engaged in the productions or exhibition of films.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of the Corporation is to facilitate the Development of the Film Industry with the aim of serving foreign film crews and generate revenue by renting out heavy duty film shooting equipment.<\/p>\n<p>There are 3 main areas:<\/p>\n<p>1. One Stop Shop<br \/>\n2. Production Development<br \/>\n3. Audience Development<\/p>\n<p>To achieve its mission, 7 key objectives have been defined for the sector and a strategy for film development. These objectives have equal priority.<\/p>\n<p>1.
